I have lived in downtown Nampa, Idaho since 2013—another California transplant. My partner Lawrence Manning and I are both working artists and also own a commercial photography business.
For the past 30+ years, I've worked extensively in ink and watercolor, including travel sketchbooks made all over the world; oils; monotypes; and most recently, generously-scaled Plein air acrylic paintings. I am continually tinkering around with different media, looking for experiments that will "stick."
I enjoy working on a larger scale which can hold its own in a large space. The size of these paintings has been likened to a door, rather than a window—creating fluid structures that you can visually step into and experience in a more physical manner. My newer landscape paintings bring me full circle, but add the thrill and risk of in working large scale on location. I look forward to making some large paintings of landscapes in Idaho and other areas in the Pacific Northwest.
I am a member of Treasure Valley Artists' Alliance, and serve on the board of the Nampa Art Collective.
Thanks for stopping by to have a look. I'd love to hear from you!
